3rd day in SF!
i've been catching up on sleep...feel so happy! Slept till 12 plus today. I think I really need the rest. Working drains my energy and after this holiday, i'm not gonna have any more time to sleep...just class after endless class.................aarrghhh...betta not think about it.
See that dog by the lamp post? It came to say hi to us and gave me a shock coz it was huge! Anyway, after waggin its tail at us, it bounded away when its owner called it. However, it couldn't resist a quick sniff at the lamp post to see who had been there before him/her.
This is the wall outside the shop where I was trying on the slippers. They put broken plates into the wall. Harharhar...kinda nice...they must have broken alot of plates...
We wandered along Telegraphy Avenue because I had a craving for fruit juice but couldn't find any so I was quite grumpy. Anyway, it was getting late and we had a musical to catch so we proceeded to Oakland where we had dinner at Burger King. Sounds boring, right? But there was nothing much to eat. It was a Sunday and also Mothers' Day so nothing much was open. People get off work earlier here compared to Singapore and shopping is not an integral part of their life. Also, Louis told me that there were alot of shoot-outs in Oakland. =S
haven't been doing much these 2 days but sleep. Still abit jet-lagged but getting much better. Not much of an appetite though. think my body clock is upside down still...
woke up at almost 2pm in the afternoon yesterday and headed off to Berkeley. Walked around the grounds of UC Berkeley. Lovely campus. Sometimes I wish I had taken the chance to study overseas. Oh well...NUS wasn't that bad...i did have good times in fact...
A lot of open space. People were lying on the grass and enjoying the sun. It looked nice so I tried it and Louis asked, "How can you be sure that you're sitting on dog poo?" I made him sit down beside me.
There were dogs retrieving tennis balls that their owners threw for them. They're so clever! My dog is not clever at all. Can't even sit when ordered to. =(See that dog by the lamp post? One of the noticeboards at the university. So colourful! Harharhar...some of the notices must date back to the 18th century.
Don't you wish you were studying here???
Headed to Downtown Berkeley, Telegraph Avenue for some shopping. Tried on some slippers. Wanted to buy but only one design was nice (it was 2 pairs for USD10) and i couldn't choose two. Also, Louis disappeared halfway so I had to go look for him.

We had some time after dinner so we entertained ourselves by taking photos in the car. It was too cold outside. Wind was super strong and chilly.
Paramount Theater! That's where we watched CATS. Based on the poems of T.S. Eliot. Pretty good dance sequences. Louis fell asleep but I couldn't blame him. The storyline is not very interesting and I only understood it coz I had watched the DVD previously. It became better after the interval. Our favourite part was when Grizabella sang 'Memory'. Powerful vocals. She got a standing ovation when it ended.
It's very chilly at night. It was ok in the day and I think i'm slowly getting used to the weather. It's better than being warm and sticky actually. But my skin is flaking...aarrghh...very dry...bought 2 tubs of Ben & Jerry's ice-cream at Safeways which is open 24 hrs on our way back.

It was a great day. =]
