4th day - Getting Independent

Louis had to go to work today so we only had time to grab a quick lunch at KFC before he drove off after drawing me a map of Millbrae downtown. That's where we had lunch. I miss the A&W Rootbeer float!

After lunch, I wandered around downtown Millbrae by myself. Nothing much. A departmental store, a few grocery stores, gift shop and cafes. I would have walked around more but the wind was getting stronger and stronger.

I bought coffee from Peet's Coffee and Tea because Louis said it was better than Starbucks and the wind just blew coffee out of my cup because I didn't ask for a lid! Madness! I was so annoyed I went home. I did buy some stuff before I got back. Walked around for about 2 and a half hours.

These are some pictures of the neighbourhood around Lewis Ave. There are quite a number of churches nearby.

The sign says Lewis Ave. Was too cold to press the zoom in button. Was also struggling with coffee that threatened to blow away.

Louis stays in the third house counting from the blue one.

Now, a view of the house. This is what you see when you come out of the house. Flowers everywhere. The house is actually divided into two. The owner of the house stays next door. There are flowers everywhere.

That's the main door.

Look at how big the flowers are.

Yup. That's all. Went back to tidy up the room. Still very messy. I just shifted things around. Harharhar...met Vera for dinner at 7pm. Haven't seen her in years (not exaggerating this time). She's working for a Japanese shipping company and is currently based in SF. Went to this Afgan restaurant called Kabul something. Can't remember. As usual, had to pack the food home. Appetite is really failing me. Her friend from EDB joined us and we had a good time catching up. Oh yah! Vera took me to Shoreline Park (I think?) and part of the park was for dogs! Harharhar...the Americans really love their dogs...and we were talking about eating dogs and farmed rats over dinner! harharhahr...Vera's EDB friend kept telling us not to talk so loud or else the other patrons may kill us for talking about eating dogs...harharhahr...he looked pretty serious so we piped down...

Tmr I learn how to take the train. =]
