yummy AMK crabs again.

There is just no GOOD way to eat crabs in front of the boyfriend's family (including grandmother).

No GOOD way. Period.

make-believe

It amazes me that as we grow older, we don't drop our worlds of make-believe. Perhaps when we were young, we dreamt of being a princess being saved by our prince or a world where we could fly or a world that was all happiness and no worries (yes, I distinctly remember being worried as a kid), or even a world that could never be described by words.

I went to watch a play that my friend produced last Friday at UCC. It was about unrequited love set in 1930s Shanghai. It was pretty good. They wrote their own music, script, dance, etc, etc. The stage is truly a world by itself of make-believe. Lower strips of cloth and it becomes a market, a harbor, the outside world. Light up the lamps and it becomes a brothel. Dim the lights and it becomes a reputable residence. The power of belief.

Even guys are not spared from such romantic notions. I think. Louis has just read the entire Narnia Chronicles (clap! clap! clap! He never reads unless he can help it) and he messaged me to ask me if I want to go to Narnia. I guess for him (and me, sometimes), Narnia has become a 'real' place.

As age sets in (at the ripe age of 22 going on 23), we all need a place that we can go to when the real world seems boring or harsh. I'm glad I have such a place.

Under His wings.
