badly in need of energy...

This week has been totally energy draining and I'm not even sure why. I suspect that it's due to the lack of public holidays in March. Now I know what Sharon meant when she said when you start working, you live for public holidays. We really should have more public holidays. However, even when we have public holidays, somehow there's pressure to make up for the lost days. That's just so Singaporean. I remember my university lecturer say, "What's the use of public holidays when we need to have make up lectures? I just don't get it." He was a foreigner.

Sometimes, I wish Singapore was less stressful and the government would hopefully implement a 4 day work week. Now, that would attract all the foreign talent. Combine that with our perpetually sunny climate and low crime rates, we would become a smashing hit. But I guess I have no real cause for complain. I saw this report of this man recently in the papers who is undergoing trial for being a Christian. He lived for 15 years as a Christian and only recently just got found out. It's funny how he was able to live normally, had friends and family, when nobody knew that he gave his life to Jesus. But once people found out, they were baying for his blood. Why? I'm sure in those 15 years, he was loved and praised by the same people who want him dead now. I hope he remembers Paul and Barnabas.

I hope Singapore never becomes like that. Once we lose that tolerance, then we lose all we stand for.
